BoJ Sees Moderate Recovery By Year End: Shirakawa

Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa on Thursday said that the economy will log a moderate recovery by the end of 2011. But he said developments in financial markets and economic uncertainty will hurt business sentiment.
He reiterated that the central bank needs to closely monitor the impact of the U.S. and Europe financial development on real economies. Shirakawa noted that financial institutions in Japan remain stable.
The BoJ restrained from expanding monetary easing early September. The bank kept its credit and asset-purchasing programs totaling 50 trillion yen intact.
