China is ready to invest USD 10 billion in the development of Ukraine's agriculture if the sides agree on specific projects, Ukraine's Minister of Agriculture and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk has said after visiting China last week, the Cabinet of Ministers said in a statement.

During the visit the Ukrainian delegation met, inter alia, the chairman of the People's Bank of China, Minister of Commerce. During a meeting with President of Export-Import Bank of China (Eximbank) Li Zhogu the sides focused on the financing of infrastructure and agro-industrial investment projects in Ukraine, as well as the participation of the Chinese bank in financial transactions in the land market of Ukraine.

"China attaches great importance to developing relations with Ukraine in the agricultural sector. The Eximbank president told us that the bank was ready to provide investment in the Ukrainian agriculture at USD 10 billion if specific projects are agreed by the parties," Prysiazhniuk noted.

In the near future, he said, Eximbank intends to send to Ukraine a working group to cooperate with Ukrainian partners on a permanent basis.
