PepsiCo to open $110 mln chips plant in Russia's south

PepsiCo subsidiary Frito Lay Manufacturing company will open a $110 million plant to produce chips in the south of Russia, a regional investment development agency official told RIA Novosti on Wednesday.
The design capacity of the factory in the Rostov region will amount to 50,000 tons. It will create nearly 1,000 jobs.
"The plant plans to use local raw materials, process up to 140,000 tons of potatoes per year, providing stable sales of produce to farmers of the region," the official said.
