Agriculture Ministry develops program for adaptation of agroindustrial complex standards to EU requirements

Agriculture Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk had a meeting with Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Ukraine Max Alier. They discussed the modern state and perspectives of the agroindustrial complex development, main macroeconomic factors influencing the sector and possible measures on stabilization of the situation.
As the ministry press service informed, in particular, the matter concerns the situation with the sector crediting and the government policy on the grain market. The IMF Resident Representative noted importance of carrying out reforms in the agroindustrial complex and ensuring protection of the population under conditions of a growth of prices for foodstuffs.
The Ukrainian party informed about development of the Program for adaptation of standards in the agrarian sector to requirements of the European Union jointly with the EU institutes, the Polish Ministry for Agriculture and Rural Development and the World Bank.
Max Alier responded to the Minister's proposal to participate in development of the Program. Next week, a working meeting will be held on this issue at the IMF Resident Representative Office.
