Foreign direct investment in Romania down 30.5% in the first seven months

Foreign direct investment in Romania amounted €1.105bn in the first seven months, 30.5% less than in the same period of 2010, data of the National Bank show. In July, Romania attracted foreign direct investment of only €90m.
Intra-group loans in January-July totalised €423m, while equity stakes consolidated with estimated net loss amounted 682m€. Foreign direct investment in the first seven months covered 39.1% of the country's €2.82bn current account deficit.
