Belarus’ capital investments up 19% in January-August

In January-August 2011 the volume of capital investments in Belarus increased by almost 19% over the same period last year to the total of Br45.5 trillion, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
In January-August construction and assembly works amounted to B22.4 trillion, up 19.2% as against January-August 2010.
A total of 3.1689 million square meters of new housing were commissioned in January-August 2011, which slimmed down by 14.2% from the volume in January-August 2010.
However, in August 2011 house commissioning went up more than 1.7 times over July.
As for 2011 projections, Belarus’ capital investment should near 116-117% as against the previous year. Some 7.5 million square meters of housing is to be commissioned out of all sources of financing.
