35.3 million tons of grain thrashed in Ukraine

35.3 million tons of grain from 11.6 million ha or 75% of the forecast has been thrashed in Ukraine as of September 9, average crop capacity in the country makes up 30.5 centners/ha against 25 centners/ha last year, the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry informs.
In particular, corn was thrashed to the volume of 272,000 tons on 57,000 ha (2% of the forecast). Its average crop capacity makes up 47.6 centners/ha, whereas in 2010 - 38.1 centners/ha.
Buckwheat gathered on188,000 ha (63% of the forecast). Its yield is 215,000 tons with average crop capacity of 11.4 centners/ha against last year's 8.4 centners/ha. Millet was thrashed on 128,000 ha (78% of the forecast), 252,000 tons was harvested with average crop capacity of 19.6 centners/ha (in 2010 - 15.4 centners/ha).
