During the meeting of Verkhova Rada Committee it has been stated that the Land Law is designed to support only large companies-agroholdings they are the only ones able to buy land in the amount, set as the minimum (2.1 thousands hectares) by the law. According to statistics, 30% of Ukrainian population lives in small villages, close to the agricultural land, yet only 1% works with land. Therefore it was stated that the law requires additional review and may be sent back for changes. The Law was submitted on the 19th of July, 2011.
