Bulgaria’s GDP Grew by 2% Q2 2011 y/y

Bulgaria's Gross Domestic Product increased by 2% during the first quarter of 2011, reaching BGN 18 804 000 or BGN 2 516 (EUR 1 284) per capita, according to the country's National Statistical Institute.
According to the institute's seasonally adjusted data, Bulgaria's GDP growth rate in the second quarter of 2011 was 0.3%, compared with the previous quarter.
As compared with the second quarter of 2010, Bulgaria's industrial sector increased its share in the gross value added to the state's economy by 2.3 % to 33.4%. For the same period, the share of services went down by 2.4% year on year to 60.8 %. The share of the Bulgarian agricultural sector increased by 1.1% to 5.8%, the institute's preliminary data has shown .
In the second quarter of 2011, individual consumption constituted 70.1% of Bulgaria's GDP. Investments accounted for another 21.1%. The country's external balance (exports-imports) was negative and amounted to BGN 414 M,or 2.2% of the GDP.
