Azarov says Ukraine to earn $5-10bn from selling gas company after Naftogaz restructuring

The Ukrainian government is planning to receive 5 to 10 billion dollars in investment after the restructuring of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine. For that purpose the government is planning to single out a gas company, and hold IPO of the newly established company, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said Thursday during an open lecture at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
"We decided to restructure Naftogaz, single out, respectively, a gas company, prepare it and hold an initial public offering on the open stock market. According to our calculations, we are to get very serious investment resources - about USD 5-10 billion, which will allow us to place the budget expenses on the shoulders of investors," he said.
At the same time Azarov emphasized that a controlling stake in the newly formed company will remain in state ownership.
