MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia Sergei Sidorsky and Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation on 3 December to discuss the agreements on the development of the single economic space, spokesman for the Prime Minister Alexander Timoshenko told BelTA.

“In a telephone conversation the two heads of government discussed the progress made in the preparation of the documents on the single economic space within the agreements made in a one-on-one meeting in St Petersburg on 19 November,” said Alexander Timoshenko.

The major work on the documents is currently conducted by the deputy premiers and experts. Sergei Sidorsky and Vladimir Putin agreed that the documents are almost ready for signing.

The Prime Ministers of Belarus and Russia came to an agreement that if needed the rest of the issues regarding the documents would be coordinated either in a private encounter or by telephone ahead of a meeting between the two heads of state scheduled for December 2010.

Sergei Sidorsky congratulated his Russian counterpart for Russia’s winning the right to host the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He noted that Belarus was confident in Russia’s victory and wished every success in conducting the championship at a high level and taking the World Cup.

Vladimir Putin, on his part, stressed his confidence that the 2014 IIHF World Championship will be held in Belarus at a high level as well.
