Ukraine. Trade turnover grows by 50% in seven months, to USD 84 b

Ukraine's total trade turnover increased by 50% in January-July 2011 year-on-year, to USD 84.3 billion, the press service of the State Customs Service of Ukraine has reported.
"Imports rose by 58%, to USD 46.1 billion, while taxable imports increased by 20.7%, to USD 30.8 billion. Thus, the pace of growth in payments (28.5%) exceeded the pace of growth in taxable imports (20.7%) by 7.8%," the service said.
According to customs officers, the largest amount of taxes was paid to the budget during the customs clearance of imports of petroleum products (UAH 8.9 billion), passenger cars (UAH 4.2 billion), coal (UAH 2.3 billion), crude oil (UAH 2.2 billion), and petroleum gas (UAH 1.5 billion).
It was reported earlier that the State Customs Service had transferred UAH 70 billion (UAH 7.97 / USD 1) to the state budget since the beginning of 2011. The revenue side of the state budget was 103.1% fulfilled.
