France imposes higher taxes for the rich

France will levy an additional 3% tax on annual incomes exceeding 500,000 euros.
The government thus heeded a call from the wealthiest citizens to tax them an extra 3% as an “exceptional contribution” to help France reduce its budget deficit. The measure will enable the government to save about 200 million euro.
The additional tax for the rich will remain in force until the budget deficit drops from 7% to 3% of the gross domestic product.
