French 2011 business investment likely to rise 14%: Survey

French business managers expect investment in the manufacturing industry to increase this year, but slightly slower than their previous estimate, a survey released by the statistical office Insee showed Friday.
The growth projection for 2011 business investment was lowered to 14 percent from the 15 percent expansion estimated in April. Business leaders estimated 1 percent increase in investment for 2010.
The estimate for investment in electrical and machine equipment for 2011 was downgraded to 10 percent from 12 percent, while that for transport equipment was raised to 7 percent from 6 percent. Investment in other manufacturing is seen at 16, down from 19 percent expansion forecast in April.
