Serbia asks IMF for support

On Monday Serbia started talks with the International Monetary Fund on being granted a 1bln euro loan. If they come to an agreement the IMF board of directors may approve it at the end of September.
The delegation of the IMF will stay in Serbia until the 30th of August. Representatives of the IMF will meet with Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic and the directors of the National Bank of Serbia.
During their visit the experts will analyze the macroeconomic factors specially focusing on the fiscal policy for 2011 and 2012 ahead of a parliamentary election in the country.
