Inflation in Belarus at 3.5% in July

In July 2011 the consumer price index (CPI) went up 3.5% as compared to June 2011 and 41% over December 2010, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee.
For comparison: in June prices went up 8.6% as against May. Now this tempo has slowed down.
In July the food price index increased some 3.5% as against June 2011 and 41.6% over December 2010.
In July 2011 manufacturers of industrial products raised prices by 6.9% as against June. The prices for investment goods increased by 18.7%, intermediate goods by 4.8%, consumer goods by 5.7%. A reminder, in June 2011 the prices for industrial products grew by 21.3%. The prices for investment goods increased by 20.1%, intermediate goods by 26%, consumer goods by 13.6%. Thus, the inflation has slowed down.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the index of prices for chargeable services went up 1.7% as against June 2011 and 23.1% over December 2010. For comparison: in June 2011 this figure increased by 5.1% over May 2011 and 21% as against December 2010.
