Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry: Grain of new yield will stabilize bread prime cost

Grain of 2011 yield, coming to flour-grinding enterprises for processing, will hamper a growth of wholesale and sale prices for bread, under condition of stable prices for other components of its prime cost, in particular, for secondary raw materials, gas and electric energy, wages to workers, etc., the Ministry press service informed.
"In total, sector enterprises, which are subject to statistical reporting, received UAH 48.4 million profits (1 USD - 7.97 UAH) in 2010. At the same time, 62.9% of enterprises were profitable, having got UAH 147.5 million of profits, while 37.1% - incurred losses totaling UAH 99.1 million," the agency notes.
According to the Ministry, losses primarily were received by enterprises that do not re-equip power-consuming and obsolete equipment, which leads to a growth in the share of energy resources in the structure of the bread prime cost.
According to the State Statistics Service, consumption of bread and bread products in Ukraine in 2010 made up 111.3 kg per head a year, which is higher against the set minimum norm.
