More than 80% of Ukrainian banks finish 1H with profit

More than 80% of Ukrainian banks have finished the first half of the year with profits. Their combined net profit in the first six months of 2011 amounted to 3.2 billion UAH (1 USD - 7.97 UAH), according to the National Bank of Ukraine.
PrivatBank was the most successful in terms of earnings in the first half of 2011. This country's largest financial institution by assets reported a net profit of 782.3 million UAH for January-June.
33 out of 176 Ukrainian banks finished the first half of the year in losses (this is 18.8% of the total number of the functioning credit and financial institutions).
