The Land Law establishes a maximum for a single owner

Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Mykola Prisyajnyuk stressed that the ministry supports the consolidation of agricultural land. The draft law On Land Market that was registered in the Parliament on 19th of July 2011, provides for the consolidation of agricultural land.
He also mentioned that his ministry is in favor of land usage only as a subject to agricultural technology, crop rotation. Bill mentioned above provides maximum limit to the amount of land owned by one person (physical or legal entity) to 1.5 ha.
The Minister also stated that land in Ukraine will be re-evaluated. It is envisaged to increase the re-evaluation of agricultural land by 1.7 times which will respectively increase the rent, the collateral value in banks.
