Erste Bank: Inflation hits 11.9%

A report prepared by Erste Bank says that in June 2011, inflation in Ukraine reached a level of 11.9% (year-on-year), which has been the highest figure since December 2009.
According to forecasts, this will be a maximum level by the end of the year, although a slight growth is possible in July.
Korrespondent.biz analysts said that a rise in prices would slow in the coming months, because in the same period last year there had been an increase in tariffs for public utilities and excise rates.
The report notes that the pension reform as a condition for receiving a tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) increased the likelihood of a rise in tariffs for housing and utilities services, which, in turn, will have a significant impact on inflation.
