Ukraine. GDP growth in H1 expected at 4.5-5%

Growth of gross domestic product of Ukraine in H1, 2011, is expected at 4.5-5%, Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Volodymyr Bandurov said.
According to him, industrial production growth over the designated period made up 8.7%. Ivano-Frankivsk region is a leader, where this index amounted to 35%. At the same time, a 13.2% drop in industrial output took place in Odesa region.
According to Bandurov, in the industry, the machine building sector is leader for the second year running - in H1, volumes of production growth made up 21%.
Preparation of objects to UEFA EURO 2012 promoted an increase in the volumes of fulfilled works in the construction sector. A growth index in H1 was 14.5%, whereas over the same period of 2010 its reduction was fixed by 13.3%.
Bandurov also noted that a production increase was fixed in the agroindustrial sector - in H1 it made up 13.2%, which exceeds a growth index in the agroindustrial sector over 10 years (3%).
Growth in retail trade turnover in January-May amounted to 15.2%, whereas growth of goods export over this period was 43.2%.
