KYIV, November 24 /UKRINFORM/. Ukrainian and Egyptian Prime Ministers Mykola Azarov and Ahmed Nazif have discussed the possibility of delivering Ukrainian wheat to the Egyptian market, an UKRINFORM correspondent has reported.

Nazif said at the sixth meeting of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific and technical cooperation that the sides had agreed on the need to establish direct contacts, because Ukraine can meet the needs of the Egyptian market in wheat.

According to the figures of the balance of the demand and consumption of grain crops in Ukraine in the 2010/2011 marketing year, the possibility of external supplies of grain is estimated at 12.8 million tons, including 6.2 million tons of wheat.

According to the Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry, in 2010 the wheat harvest amounted to 10.3 million tons, while the country's domestic demand does not exceed 5 million tons.
