Bleyzer Foundation: Ukrainian economy showing symptoms of recovery

Ukraine's gross domestic product in the current year will show growth of 4.5%, Oleg Ustenko, executive director of The Bleyzer Foundation, predicts.
"This is our conservative estimate and it is not as optimistic as projections of certain organizations and government forecasts," he said.
Ustenko also noted that the Ukrainian economy shows signs of improvement and is growing at the expense of industry. "However, Ukraine still remains export-oriented, and the growth that we see occurred in export-oriented fields: chemistry, metallurgy, machine building," the expert stated.
According to updated information of the State Statistics Service, in the first quarter of 2011, GDP growth in Ukraine was 5.3%.
Earlier it was reported that the World Bank raised its GDP growth forecast for Ukraine in 2011 from 4% to 4.5%.
In early June, the Government improved its GDP growth forecast from 4.5% to 4.7%.
