Ukraine can boost grain export in new season by over half - analyst

Ukraine in 2011/12 marketing year, according to preliminary results, can supply about 18.3 billion tons of grain to foreign markets, 54.4% up against the forecasted volume for the current season. This forecast was aired by analyst of the grain market Anastasiya Ivasenko at the conference Grain Forum 2011 in Yalta (Crimea, Ukraine's south).
"Increase in the grain export volumes is expected on all main cultures," she added.
The expert also noted that due to export quoting by results of the currency season Ukraine exported 10.6 million tons of grain (July-May) against 21.2 million tons in 2009/10 MY.
Wheat export made up 3.3 million tons (9.2 million in the previous season), barley - 2.5 million tons (6.2 million tons in 2009/10 MY) and corn - 3.2 million tons (4.4 million tons).
