World Bank has raised inflation forecast for Ukraine in 2011 by 0.7 percentage points up to 11.4%. This was stated by a senior economist of the WB Ukrainian office, Ruslan Piontkovsky.
"Ukraine remains very sensitive, because its exports are a small selection of goods," Piontkovsky said, noting that it is primarily influenced by increases in tariffs.
According to him, in the 1st quarter of 2011, inflation remained at around 10%, but over the past month it increased to 11%, which was caused by the accumulation of cost increase factors.
World Bank predicts that in 2012 inflation in Ukraine will fall to 10%, and in 2013 to 7.4%.
Earlier, the World Bank predicted 2011 inflation at 10.7%, and in 2012 at 8.9%.
