Romania May Inflation Less Than Expected

Romania's annual inflation for May was below economists' expectations, data released by the National Institute of Statistics showed Friday.
The consumer price index increased 8.41 percent year-on-year in May, less than economists' forecast for an 8.5 percent growth. In April, the inflation was 8.3 percent.
Prices of food products climbed 11.23 percent during the month, while prices of non-food products moved up by 7.70 percent annually. There was a 4.65 percent growth in prices in the services sector in April.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices grew 0.21 percent during the month, less than the 0.3 percent increase economists had forecast.
