Kazakhstan may prolong ban on export of some oil products.

2011-05-31 12:50:48

Kazakhstan is considering the possibility of prolonging the ban on export of some oil products, Minister of Oil and Gas of the republic Sauat Mynbayev said here on Tuesday.

“We hope to prolong (the ban on export of oil products). It is necessary to come to an agreement about it with the partners in the Customs Union,” Mynbayev said answering journalists’ questions after a meeting of the government.

The ban on export of some kinds of oil products, in particular light distillates and products, kerosene, except of special kinds of gasoline and domestic stove fuel, was introduced in the republic back in 2010. In late April of 2011, it was prolonged until July 1. The decision was adopted to prevent a growth of prices in the internal market of oil products.”

As for another prolongation of the given measure, according to Mynbayev, “everything will depend on the situation in the market.”
