Pakistan to spend Rs. 710 billion on development

Pakistan government will allocate Rs. 710 billion (US $8.3 billion) for development projects in FY 2011-12, Jang reported May 14.
Deputy Chairman Planning Commission of Pakistan Nadeem-ul Haq told media Rs. 280 billion of that would be spent directly by the federal government. The remaining Rs. 430 billion would be distributed among the provinces for their projects.
The government spending would be used to complete ongoing projects instead of starting new programmes, he said.
