Ukraine ups grain yield forecast in 2011

The Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry raised estimates of the grain yield 2011, having stated that the yield will be "considerably higher" against the earlier stated forecast at 45 million tons, First Deputy Minister Mykola Bezyhly has said.
At the end of April, the ministry raised its forecast of the grain yield 2011 to 45 million tons from 43 million tons.
Bezuhly failed to say about the grounds for the present revision of the forecast, but he noted that the weather conditions are favorable for grain crops.
