Foreign investments in 1Q 29% up to $925.7 million

Foreign investment in the Ukrainian economy in the 1st quarter was $925.7 million, according to the State Statistics Service.
Thus, the volume of investments increased by 29%, compared with $717.1 million invested in the 1st quarter of 2010.
EU countries invested $713.8 million (77.1% of the total volume), CIS countries $27.3 million (3.0%), other countries $184.6 million (19.9%).
At the same time, the capital of non-residents decreased by $260.7 million.
The volume of investments from Cyprus for the year increased by 3.6 times and reached for the 1st quarter $669 million.
Increase in the foreign capital in the 1st quarter of 2011 was observed at industrial enterprises in the amount of $489.5 million; at the companies operating with real estate, leasing, engineering and services to individuals $167.5 million; trade, repair of motor vehicles, household goods and personal items $106 million.
