USDA: Ukraine to increase oil crops exports 42% in 2011/12MY

Exports of oilseeds (including cocoa, cotton, palm, peanut, rapeseed, sunflower and soybean crops) from Ukraine in 2011-2012 MY (July 2011 - June 2012) will increase by 42% to 3.65 tons against the expected 2.56 million tons in the previous period, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said in a report.
At the same time, according to the USDA, production of oilseeds will decline to 7.09 million tons after 7.16 million tons in 2010-2011 MY.
The USDA also expects reduction in the export of Ukraine's main vegetable oils (including coconut, cottonseed, olive, palm, peanut, rapeseed, soybean and sunflower oil) by 3% to 2.48 million tons.
Production of sunflower oil in Ukraine is projected to decline by 2.6% to 2.599 million tons. The sunflower seed crop, in contrast, will increase by 3.4% to 7,000,000 tons in 2011-2012 MY.
The export of sunflower oil in the next marketing year is expected to reach 2.43 million tons, 2.8% less than in the previous period.
