Foreign trade balance remains negative

In January-September, imports exceeded exports by 5 billion 427.5 million dollars. This was reported by the State Statistics Committee.
During January-September 2010, the balance of trade in goods declined by 1 billion 356.3 million dollars compared with January-September 2009 (in January-September 2009, the deficit amounted to 4 billion 071.2 million dollars).
Exports of goods in January-September amounted to 36 billion 252.8 million dollars, an increase by 32.1% compared with January-September 2009. Imports of goods in January-September amounted to 41 billion 680.3 million dollars, an increase of 32.2%.
During 2009, the balance of trade in goods improved by 12 billion 848.2 million dollars compared with 2008 (in 2008 a shortfall was 18 billion 580.9 million dollars).
