Resolution on abolishment of corn export quotas comes into force

Since May 5, Ukraine abolished corn export quotas that had to be in effect till June 30.
The Cabinet took a relevant decision on April 27.
As UKRINFORM reported, the export quota of 2 million tons was set on October 4, 2010. On December 6 last year, the term of the quota operation was prolonged till March 31 and the allowed volume was increased to 3 million tons. On March 30, the government took a decision about prolongation of grain export quotas till July 1 and increased corn quotas by another 2 million tons.
According to the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, this year, areas under corn increased to 3.1 million ha, all grain group - to 15.5 million ha.
