President Yanukovych sees financial sector reform a priority for 2011

President Viktor Yanukovych has outlined reforms of financial sector, pension insurance and state property management a priority for 2011, first deputy head of the Presidential Administration Iryna Akimova briefed the press.

According to her, an action plan for 2011 approved by the head of state identifies the following tasks: stabilization of the state budget, tax reform, financial sector development, regional development and reform of fiscal relations, reform of medical services, pension insurance system, education, social protection.

Moreover, among the priorities for the current year, Yanukovych has identified deregulation of privatization and state property management, development of scientific-technical and innovation sectors, international integration and cooperation, reforms of electric power and coal industry, oil and gas industry, housing and utilities, transport infrastructure development, agriculture.

The head of state also pointed out among the priorities the land reform, reformation of civil service and the system of executive authorities, as well as implementation of national projects.

The president ordered the Cabinet of Ministers to provide implementation of the action plan for 2011 to carry out the economic reform program 2010-2014 "Rich Society, Competitive Economy, Effective Government".

Earlier, Yanukovych said that in 2012 Ukraine would feel the positive effects of reforms. In addition, he stressed that the reform process is painful, therefore, it must be rapid. According Yanukovych, in 2011 reforms will cover actually all spheres of life of the country.
