Governments of Ukraine and Russia talk about the possibility of liberalization of the grain export before the new season starts

The Ukrainian Parliament may consider the question of corn export quotas abolishment on the today’s meeting, said the Prime Minister Nikolay Azarov. He believes that Ukraine has enough grain stocks and price stability is preserved on the grain market. Consequently the question of export policy liberalization may be considered.

After considering the remaining grain stocks at the end of May the Russian government will decide whether to abolish or prolong the grain exports ban which is valid till July 01, said the First Vice Prime Minister Victor Zubkov.
Russia banned grain exports on August 15, 2010 till June 30, 2011. Moreover the question of the ban prolongation till the end of 2011 is being considered in the government.
