Ukraine. Export of agricultural products up 41% in Q1, 2011

The export of agricultural products from Ukraine grew by 41% in the first quarter of 2011 year-on-year, to USD 900 million, Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk said at an extended meeting of the ministry's board.
The volume of agricultural production in all categories of farms rose by 5.3% compared to the first quarter of 2010, including at agricultural enterprises by 11.4%.
"Production figures increased despite the introduction of grain export quotas," Prysiazhniuk said.
He noted that the consolidated budget had received UAH 864.8 million from agricultural companies in Q1, 2011, which was UAH 185 million (UAH 7.97 / USD 1) more than in the same period of 2010.
Agribusiness companies attracted UAH 4.7 billion in loans over the period, which was nearly three times more than in the first quarter of 2010.
