Dairy producers cut cheese prices by 10-20%

The Union of Dairy Enterprises has said that producers have reduced the prices of cheese by 10-20%, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Union Vadym Chaharovsky has said.
"The prices were in fact reduced by 10% to 20%, depending on producers," he said, adding that the issue concerns the selling prices of producers, while in retail networks the prices will drop within two weeks.
Chaharovsky noted that a further reduction in prices for hard cheese and butter was not expected.
As for the prices for whole milk products, he predicted a 5% increase in them by the end of this year.
On November 5, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine obliged 11 major dairy plants to gradually reduce the wholesale prices for milk, sour cream, butter and cheese.
