Share of foreign capital in banking system 41.5%

By the beginning of April, the share of foreign capital in the Ukrainian banking system reached 41.5%, as reported by the National Bank on its website.
In general, the March level of presence of foreign capital rose by 1.1 percentage points.
As of April 1, Ukraine had 54 banks with foreign capital (30.7% of the total number of existing financial institutions). Of them, 20 banks are with 100% foreign capital (11.4%).
The total equity by the beginning of April, according to the National Bank, reached 138.4 billion UAH, having increasing in three months of 2011 by 0.71 billion UAH or 0.5% (1 USD - 7.97 UAH).
For the year 2010, the share of foreign capital in the Ukrainian banking system increased by 4.8 percentage points, from 35.8% to 40.6%.
