Cabinet permits export of 250,000 tons of grain detained in ports

The Cabinet permitted export of grain that is kept in ports outside the frames of the introduced quotation. The first ships loaded still before introduction of restrictions for grain export started to leaver on November 8, President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation (UAC) Leonid Kozachenko informed, adding that the matter concerns approximately 250,000 tons of grain.

Earlier, this information was confirmed by UAC Director General Serhiy Stoyanov.

As UKRINFORM has already reported, since October 19, Ukraine has introduced grain export quotation. The quota was set till 2011 and makes up 2.7 million tons, in particular, for export of wheat - 500,000 tons, corn - 2 million tons, barley - 200,000 tons, rye and buckwheat - by 1,000 tons.

On November 5, the Economy Ministry has announced about a repeated receipt of bids for getting licenses for export of separate types of agricultural products according to an undistributed quota volume.

According to the UAC, grain traders submitted bids for export of 3 million tons of grain till the year end.
