Ukrainian farmers get almost UAH 7 b credits

Agricultural enterprises as of the end of October have attracted UAH 6.8 billion credits (1 USD - 7.91 UAH) since the year start.
"According to live data from Ukraine's regions, 1,848 agricultural enterprises attracted credit funds totaling over UAH 6.8 billion, 33% up against the same date of the previous year," the Agriculture Ministry statement reads.
Out of the attracted funds, short-term credits make up over UAH 4.8 billion, medium-term credits - over UAH 0.849 billion and long-term credits - over UAH 1.1 billion.
The statement notes that interest rates for attraction of credits remain high and amount to 24-27% annual, despite a reduction of the National Bank discount rate to 7.75%.
As regards prolongation of credits, the Agriculture Ministry informs that credits were prolonged to the total amount of UAH 732 million for 277 enterprises.
For cheapening of the credits, UAH 415 million was transferred to the regions.
Earlier, the Agriculture Ministry has proposed to the government to abolish restrictions of using a mechanism of partial compensation of rates on transition short-term credits by the fiscal year limits.
