2011 inflation in Ukraine will amount to 10.5-11.5%, according to the Ukrainian Economic Trends Forecasts prediction made by research firm Da Vinci AG.
"The first quarter of 2011 dispelled myths about the possibility to contain inflation at below 10%, and inflation is projected to achieve by the end of this year a range of 10.5-11.5%," the company noted.
According to Da Vinci AG experts, food market remained the main driver of price growth in Ukraine in the second quarter of 2011. In addition, a significant impact on consumer price inflation in this period will be made by another increase in the tariffs for electricity and utilities by 15%. Its contribution to the overall picture of inflation will be around 0.2%.
The report noted that the inflationary dynamics in Ukraine in general is in conformity with the basic trends in the world markets.
As reported earlier, inflation in Ukraine in March 2011 compared to February 2011 amounted to 1.4% against December 2010 (3.3%).
