Government will not prolong grain export quotas following July 1

The government took a decision not to prolong grain export quoting following July 1, 2011, Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk told at a briefing. "The government took a decision since July 1 not to apply any restrictive measures, including grain export quotas," the minister said.
As UKRINFORM reported, on March 30, the Cabinet prolonged operation of quotas for grain export till July 1 and increased the quota volumes for corn export by 2 million tons.
On December 8, 2010, the Cabinet prolonged grain export quotas till the end of March 2011. By the government decision, a quota for wheat export was increased by 500,000 tons and corn - by 1 million tons.
Earlier, the Cabinet introduced quotas for a period till December 31, 2010, for export of wheat and mixture of wheat and rye (meslin) to 500,000 tons, corn - 2 million tons, barley - 200,000 tons, rye and buckwheat - by 1,000 tons.
