In January-August, imports of goods exceeded exports by USD 4,640.9 million, the State Statistics Committee has informed.

In January-August 2010, the balance of foreign trade in goods decreased by USD 854.7 million compared to January-August 2009 (a negative balance of USD 3,786.2 million in January-August 2009).

In January-August, exports of goods made up USD 31,590.6 million, having increased by 33.2%, compared to January-August 2009.

The imports of goods made up USD 36,231.5 million, having increased by 31.8%.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, in January-July 2010, imports of goods exceeded exports by USD 3,453.9 million.

In 2009, the balance of foreign trade in goods improved by USD 12,848.2 million compared to 2008 (a deficit of USD 18,580.9 million in 2008).
