7-9% of winter grain crops need resowing - agriculture ministry

The area of winter grain crops in poor condition (requiring overseeding or reseeding) is predicted to be within 7-9% (about 500,000 hectares; 730,000 hectares were resown last year), the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food reported.
Most areas that require reseeding are located in Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kirovohrad and Kharkiv regions.
As of March 31, winter cereals were fed on an area of 6 million hectares (75% of the plan), which is 1.5 million hectares more than by the same date last year.
Wheat was fed on the area of 4.8 million hectares (74%), barley on 1 million hectares (79%), and rye on 213,000 hectares (74%).
