Investments in the grain agricultural sector of Ukraine should total 20-25 bln USD, declared Leonid Kozachenko, the President of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, on October 8 in Kiev . According to him, the investments for 1 ha should total nearly 1 thsd USD.

L.Kozachenko informed that Ukraine has capacities to produce nearly 105 mln tonnes of grains annually. According to estimations of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Ukraine does not need to increase volumes of applied mineral fertilizers by 6 times, in order to reach the present level of the countries of the EU and the USA. It will be sufficient to increase the volumes by two times only.

The President of the organization informed that according to data of experts of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Ukraine is able to occupy 4.2% from the general production of grains in the world, and 15% of the general world grain exports.

Generally, the expert estimates the needs of the agricultural sector of Ukraine in investments at the level of 55-60 bln USD, or 5-6 bln USD per year during the nearest 10-year period.
