Ukraine. GDP may increase 4.7% in 2011

Real GDP in Ukraine in 2011 may increase by 4.7%. This was stated by the head of the information-analytical center FOREX CLUB in Ukraine, Mykola Ivchenko.
"Against the backdrop of relatively stable global economic recovery and domestic consumption rise, the Ukrainian economy growth will continue, but because of the rising base of comparison, the growth rate by year-end will slow down. Ukraine's real GDP in the current year may rise by 4.7%," the expert said.
He also stressed that the index of production of basic industries in Ukraine in February continued to grow. The indicator for January-February 2011 compared to the same period last year increased by 9.8% (in January, an increase of 9.3%).
In 2010, GDP growth was 4.2%.
The government forecasts GDP growth at 4.5% in 2011.
