Ukrainian graintrader Agrotrade plans to cut grainexports by 20% to some 700,000 tonnes in 2014, the company's executive head Mykola Hrinchenko said as quoted by news agency Unian on Friday.
Maize will account for about half of Agrotrade's exports this year, wheat and barley will make up 30%, and 10%, respectively, and the rest will be other crops, he added.
The reduction will come as a result of the ongoing upgrade of Agrotrade's production and storage facilities, which requires significant investments. The expected reduction is not connected with Moscow's embargo on imports of Ukrainian products, since grain sales to Russia generally account for up to 5% of the company'sexports, Hrinchenko noted.
