Exports have increased by 12.7%

The Department of Agriculture has announced an increase of 12.7% in exports of fruits and vegetables during the first five months of this year compared to the same period last year.
Exports between January and May 2014 totaled 373,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables (331 000 tonnes in 2013).
Jordan exported to 44 countries. The ranking being : the Gulf countries (79% of total exports), followed by Iraq (11%) and Syria and Lebanon (9%).
Regarding products: tomatoes made up 67% of exported vegetables to lettuce, cabbage, peppers and eggplants. For fruit: peaches accounted for 46% of exported fruits, melons and watermelons 41%.
