Ukraine's gross foreign debt exceeds USD 117 billion in 2010

Ukraine's gross foreign debt, which includes the obligations of public and private borrowers, rose to USD 117.3 billion as of January 1, 2011, from USD 111.6 billion as of October 1, 2010, the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) has reported.
According to the report, the debt of the government increased for the fourth quarter of last year to USD 24.98 billion from USD 23.6 billion, while that of the National Bank of Ukraine increased to USD 7.5 billion from USD 7.1 billion.
The debt of the country's corporate sector increased to USD 50.8 billion from USD 47.6 billion, the banking system - to USD 28.1 billion from USD 27.9 billion, and the debt of subsidiaries - to USD 5.9 billion from USD 5.4 billion.
