Syngenta to buy part of Lantm?nnen’s business in Germany and Poland

The deal is to be closed in July 2014. Syngenta AG reported that it had agreed to buy the subsidiaries of the Swedish agricultural company Lantmännen in Germany and Poland. These subsidies produce winter wheat and oilseeds. The companies disclose no financial details of the deal, which is expected to be closed in July 2014. The world’s largest manufacturer of chemicals for cereal crops said this transaction would enhance the company’s position in the German and Polish markets of cereal and oil crops. The two companies will also set up a wheat research program.
